Ken Wilson-Max

“I come from a very large and diverse family which has taught me that people are more similar than they are different. Being away from my own home has made me observe life as an outsider and find close moments between people of every age and to use them as inspiration for my work.”

Ken Wilson-Max was born and educated in Zimbabwe and in 1986 travelled to the UK to study graphic design, but ended up working instead. Book success came in 1995 when Big Yellow Taxi was published, quickly followed by Little Red Plane, Big Blue Engine and eventually seven vehicle books in the series. Ken has worked on over fifty books since then for major publishers around the globe, and been published in nine languages worldwide.

He also runs a small graphic design studio (Design Tribe Ltd) which specialises in designing for different cultures and languages in the UK and offers photography and illustration services as well.
